Bamboo Taxis Hit the Streets of the Phillipines
Rustico Balderian, mayor of Tabontabon in the Philippines rolled out two amazing taxis crafted from bamboo as a result of looking for a low-cost, fuel-efficient, safe, and environmentally friendly alternative to motorcycles. These are made from 90% bamboo that are powered by coconut biodiesel.
The vehicles are called the Eco 1 and Eco 2. The Eco 1 seats 20 people and can run on one gallon of biodiesel for about 80 hours. Eco 2 works just as well, but seats around 8. Both vehicles are made by Tabontabon’s out-of-school youth, 90% of each vehicle is made out of bamboo, and they are covered in traditional Filipino woven mats called banig.via

Electric Surfer Camper Pod and more by Jay Nelson
Artist Jay Nelson is the creator of this small electric camper pod encased in a fiberglass shell, complete with a water tank, stove, cabinets, fold-down table and convertible bed. His love for surfing goes further with this modified Honda Spree that serves as a tiny expedition vehicle. Outfitted with surfboard rack, roll-out canopy, and plenty of storage, Jay imagines filling it with gourmet provisions and heading to a remote beach for some exploration and relaxation.

I just found these amazing skateboards by artist Doug McKee of Bellingham, WA who carves skateboards that look like birds, insects, and sea creatures. here is what he had to say:
The process of carving a skateboard takes a bit of time. The piece is carved out of green wood. Which is to say wet, freshly cut wood. Ideally the wood spits its water at you as you carve. I use western red cedar because it is ideal in so many ways. Its light, strong and becomes harder as it ages. It splits easily facilitating carving--but also renders the piece fragile. First it is carved green and carefully hollowed out, then put away to dry. It shrinks radially along the growth rings as it dries. Some material must be left to "true up" or eliminate the distortions caused during drying. When it is dry enough it is finish carved. via Makezine

The Front Porch, hold the house.
The Front Porch on wheels
via
The Front Porch is probably in a category all by it self but it comes in handy when all you want to do is hang out on the front porch. The nice thing about this is that you can sit on the front porch and enjoy the sunrise and the sunset. You can take it with you any place and do all the "front porch" stuff you normally enjoy anywhere, anytime you want. I'll have a house hold the house just the porch please. The possibilities are endless, I love it.
